Boyd Taylor Press Release

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Creedmoor Holding Co. CEO Boyd Taylor Receives 2024 Vistage Leadership Award

Wake Forest, NC – Boyd Taylor, Co-Founder and CEO of Creedmoor Holding Co., has been honored with the 2024 Vistage Leadership Award, recognizing his exceptional leadership, business acumen, and unwavering commitment to both his company and his community.

“I am deeply honored to receive this award,” Boyd stated. “It reflects the hard work of not just me, but also my incredible team and the support from my peer groups.”

Boyd’s Journey: From Dairy Farms to Real Estate Success

Boyd’s journey began at the young age of 12 when he took his first job on a neighboring dairy farm. The lessons learned in those early years about hard work, dedication, and perseverance have stayed with him throughout his career. “Working on that farm taught me a lot about life and the importance of understanding what you don't want to do as a career,” Boyd reflected.

After spending 16 years in senior management positions across various companies, Boyd left the corporate world in 2003 to pursue his passion for real estate. Over the past two decades, Boyd has built Creedmoor Holding Co., overseeing 1.1 million square feet of commercial property and several thousand self-storage units.

“Do something! Lead, follow, or get out of the way!” is a motto that Boyd lives by and embodies in his daily life, both personally and professionally.

Creedmoor Holding Co.’s Success

In collaboration with longtime business partner Cliff Rogers, Creedmoor Holding Co. has experienced a remarkable 300% growth over the past three years. Boyd attributes this success to networking and a dynamic, growing team. Their company is located just 20 miles north of Raleigh, NC, specializes in industrial warehouses, including dry storage, office flex, and self-storage facilities.

“We couldn’t have achieved this growth without our dedicated and talented team,” Boyd shared. “It’s a testament to the power of collaboration and continuous improvement.”

Overcoming Challenges and Leading by Example

Boyd’s leadership has not been without challenges. Last year, his company outsourced its bookkeeping process due to the departure of a key team member. Boyd quickly recognized this as a mistake and brought the process back in-house. “Some key duties need to be done ‘eyeball to eyeball,’” Boyd emphasized. This decision reinforced his belief in the importance of internal accountability and close oversight of critical operations.

Leadership Lessons and Personal Values Derived from Faith & Family

In Boyd’s career and life, faith and family play a crucial role in his success as a leader, providing a strong foundation of values, resilience, and purpose. Faith offers guidance and strength in times of uncertainty, helping him remain grounded and focused on ethical decision-making. Family, on the other hand, serves as a source of unwavering support and balance, offering perspective and emotional sustenance during the challenges of leadership. Together, faith and family instill in Boyd a sense of responsibility, empathy, and integrity, qualities that help him lead with compassion and long-term vision.

Boyd has learned countless leadership lessons throughout his career, including the importance of setting the pace for his team, having a clear game plan, and, most importantly, listening to his people. “As a leader, I’m known for being impatient, but I’ve learned to slow down and really listen,” Boyd advised. “Getting to know your team members personally builds trust and loyalty.”

Boyd’s leadership is also shaped by his continuous quest for knowledge. A habitual learner, Boyd immerses himself in books, podcasts, and trade magazines. As the famous quote by Charlie “Tremendous” Jones goes, “You will be the same person in five years as you are today except for the people you meet and the books you read.”

A Productivity Hack that Works

Boyd's go-to productivity hack is simple yet effective: “Stop listening to music while commuting.” Instead, Boyd fills his car time with audiobooks, podcasts, and educational programs. “We have to multitask and make the most of our downtime,” he said.

A Leader with a Big Heart

Boyd’s leadership extends beyond his business. He is actively involved with multiple high schools in North Carolina, providing scholarships and working to improve graduation rates. Known for his drive, thriftiness, and commitment to team building, Boyd is equally known for his generosity. “I give more than I take, and I truly care about people,” Boyd said when reflecting on his values.

Looking Ahead

As a forward-thinking leader, Boyd keeps a close eye on trends that will impact the future of business. He believes that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is one such trend that all business leaders should be paying attention to. “AI will change how businesses operate, from intelligent security systems to process automation,” Boyd predicted.
