Established in 2005 in honor of Vistage/TEC Founder Robert ‘Bob’ Nourse, the Robert Nourse Chair of the Year Award goes to the Chair who has excelled at providing exceptional value to the entire Vistage community.

For Chris, these foundational pillars have been met:
High performance – Current and multiple S.T.A.R. award winner (among the top three Chairs in 2024, alone)
High member value - Resulting in an 80% CE retention rate
High Community Citizenship – Chair mentor for multiple years; The New Chair Roundtable Lead Chair for the South; A ChairWorld Workshop speaker; AND The Lead Chair for South LDP Webinars.
With just 6 years under his belt as a Vistage Chair, Chris has earned multiple Chair Excellence and Master Chair Awards. He has been a Hyndman Award recipient and Regional Chair of the Year winner. He mentors newer Chairs in the Raleigh market, helping them have meaningful conversations with prospects and he also serves as a Vistage speaker.
In 2024, Chris chaired eight groups representing 125 members with 80% CE retention, which is the top 3 out of the top 10 Chairs in the United States.
If Chris feels a leader can have a positive impact on our Vistage community, he nominates that person both in and out of his market. Typically, any new Chair in his market reaches out to Chris for his thoughts and feedback. Chris is already highly regarded throughout the community and considered a true thought leader.
His personal mission? To help improve our community one leader at a time and have a practice with 250 members of different types. We welcome everyone to read the “Quintessential” article in this issue of Perspective’s magazine to learn how Chris and his wife Ana manage such thriving Chair practices.
From Chris’ SVP, Kevin Lubbers:
“Chris is simply an outstanding human being and high performer who gives so much of his time not only to his own practice but to others. He is constantly finding ways to deliver the highest value to his members and the local community. He is an innovator who has found a way to integrate his wife Ana, another Master Chair, into the practice along with others on his team. Their practice now spans more than ten groups with every member receiving exceptional value. Chris has always been a tremendous thought leader, high performer and giver in the South Region and beyond. He is greatly deserving of this year's Nourse award.
“Chris was unable to accept the award in person, as one of his group members tragically died in an accident the week before ChairWorld. Chris and Ana made the decision to stay home and be with their members. When I called to inform Chris of the award, he said, “I wouldn’t be the Chair I want to be if I didn’t stay home and serve my members.”
